Nintendo DS Beats Sony PSP In Japan

...system sales with 64,515, which was 26,244 more than the Sony PSP

Comparatively, the Xbox 360 continues to struggle in Japan. The week before, microsoft sold 6,107 consoles, while this week, only 3,616 were sold.

It will be interesting to compare this date once the Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Revolution are released. Most likely, the now popular handhelds will have to make way for the hugely anticipated consoles. The question remains though; who will win the console war in Japan?

When Nintendo released market share data for the handheld video game industry it revealed that Game Boy Advance holds 41% of the market, the Nintendo DS at 31% and the P...more

Nintendo GameCube: Limited But Functional

...es and then store that music on the hard drive. Apparently with the GameCube, there isn't that option, so the user is stuck with whatever sound comes with the software.

The GameCube does have a decent amount of networking capability. Besides the ability to support four players on a single unit, the GamCube has an optional 56 Kbps modem adapter and a separate broadband adapter. The broadband adapter allows for playing over DSL and cable modems, with Local Area Network play an option on some game titles. It also has parallel and serial ports as well as two Digicard ports and one Type III PCMCIA expansion slot.

Another thing that puts the GameCube at a huge disadvantage when compared to the PS3 and the Xbox 360 is the fact that it's disk drive is designed for Nintendo's proprietary eight centimet...more

New Sony PS3 Released In The UK

...y will still lose.

Another factor which will help sales between now and Christmas is the increasing number of PS3 games becoming available.

Current game console market leader, Nintendo, advised that there were no plans to cut the price of the Nintendo Wii. According to George Harrison, senior vice president of Marketing for Nintendo America: "We are still selling everything we can make."

Microsoft's XBox 360 had a recent price cut in August of 2007. With the release of the latest offering in the hugely popular Halo series, imaginatively titled "Halo 3", which is currently only available for the XBox 360, a cut in the Xbox price seems unlikely in the near future.

Sony PS3 to Ship With "Huge" Hard drive

...he fact that Sony already practially confirmed an onlien service for PS3 similar to Xbox live, which would require some type of bigger storage medium to do what they want to accomplish on it. I guess let the rumors fly once again as E3 nears and more information comes out. As it seems right now though, a hard drive for the PS3 launch is a definite possibility.more

The Gaming World's Evolution

...en the craze heaped upon and more catridges were bought. 76 in one was the most sought after. Everybody switched over to SUPER CONTRA.

But the problem was it never appeased gaming freaks playing cricket or some other sport on the 8 bit mode. For instance in ALLAN BORDER CRICKET (ABC) the bowlers action used to be like he is chucking the ball. (still it looked better than srilankan sppedstar MALLINGAs action). A 16 bit TV video game (SEGA) hit the market and it wasnt a big difference altogether. Bob and bill wanted more action, better graphics.

Then was an era about the pc games. A lot of games were available on CD. Nobody I knew bought them. These games were either downloaded from the internet or borrowed from a friend. Nobody pays for software in our country. Spare corporate companies.

EA SPORTS just rocked with real time sports. Be it FIFA or TIGER WOODS PGA TOUR.

he graphics is amazing and was ameliorating with every new release. I still remember the trade mark smile from tiger woods. Oh dear! that was almost like watching woods on ESPN. And for those action and adventure lovers, the gaming world delighted them too.

And then the gaming market saw the contemporaneous release of x- box and play station.

Both the consoles had great labour behind them and the graphics was quite real. Every release saw something new. You can and must call it ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

In the adventure game ONI, I was supposed to go for a training before the game and I was required to practice running. Once the assignment was over, I was not satisfied and I kept running. To m...more

SNES Games Controllers

...I was shocked when Super Nintendo Entertainment System first came out of the early picture in the early 1990s. Although, when the SNES came out I was much mature to say goodbye old type of video games.

But I remember the first Nintendo Entertainment System was amazing and groundbreaking in itself. The main drawback for Nintendo was that The Sega Genesis and the Turbo Grafix 16 were already introduced in the market. Even though the wait for the arrival of SNES was worth but it was late for the third generation of video game consoles. I stil...more

Nintendo keeps coming out with fun, exciting, and interactive games. By far, Mario kart Ds is one of my most favorite because of the cool graphics and the ability to play with others and their handheld devices.<...more
